Antenatal Pilates Classes

Exercise in pregnancy is important and has many benefits. Antenatal Pilates focuses on breathing, posture, muscle tone and strengthening, flexibility and balance. This helps prepare the body for labour and the demands placed on the body when becoming a mummy.

Pilates is a gentle way to exercise and all the classes are Physiotherapy led which ensures that all the exercises are safe for you and your stage of pregnancy. With both virtual and face-to-face classes available there is a class to suit your needs.

It is a great way to meet other pregnant ladies and share your pregnancy journey

Postnatal Pilates

These classes are suitable after your postnatal GP health check.

Pilates is a low-impact exercise so is safe to return to after your 6-8 week postnatal check pending a health screen assessment with the physiotherapist.

These classes will focus on your core and general strength whilst also working on flexibility, balance and posture.

Babies are welcome to lay beside you during the daytime classes as we recognise the importance of exercise and how difficult it can be to find time to exercise as a new mum.

Testimonials

At Maternity to Menopause, we are very proud of our relationship with you, our customers. Here is a selection of the kind words people have said about their time with us.

Antenatal Class

"I have being attending Susie's antenatal class for the past 9 weeks and have loved it! Every week Susie varies the exercises, provides 1:1 correction and modification of everyones exercises and provides general advice to the class. She makes the class relaxed and fun and I will continue to attend until my baby arrives and want to attend her post natal class too!!"

Antenatal Class

"Thoroughly enjoyable and informative classes. Susie is an excellent teacher who guides you through all the exercises and tailors them to your needs. I feel that I have managed to maintain and improve my core strength which I hope will lead to a better recovery post birth and beyond. The classes have also been great to meet local like minded mums to be and chat all things antenatal, after class obviously 😜"

1hr Massage

"My therapeutic massage was fantastic. Slightly different from a Swedish massage but overall very relaxing with particular attention on my problem areas. Susie explained the whole process and checked in with me throughout the treatment making me feel comfortable. The room was really nice with lovely relaxing background music. Afterwards, she explained how I could continue work on some problematic areas so great aftercare - a really beneficial and enjoyable massage and I highly recommend Susie."

Pregnancy Massage

"I received a massage off Susie when I was 37 weeks pregnant. I had a 1 hour full body massage and I felt great afterwards for the rest of the day and my hip and lower back pain felt so much better. I even had a full nights sleep which I had not had for weeks!! It was lovely just what any mummy to be needs!!" - A M Y

Postnatal Class

"The Post-natal classes are exactly what I was looking for to help me to regain my pre-pregnancy tummy. The sessions are relaxed & Susie leads them in an informative but friendly manner. She takes great interest in everyone's progression & continually checks positioning & advises of appropriate adjustments. This is key to ensure that we get maximum benefit from the exercises." - K A T E

Ante/Postnatal

"I came to the prenatal class with back issues wanting a smaller class with an instructor that knows about pregnancy exercises that help with support whilst growing a baby. Susie provides all equipment with a laid back atmosphere giving encouragement and support. The Postnatal classes take care of my back with exercises for recovering from child birth. I look forward to my classes knowing it's helping my core recover and it gets me out of the house for some adult conversation." - E L E A N O R
